Monday 25/7 – Arrival day for volunteer staff

9 000 volunteers arrive.

Tuesday 26/7

The volunteers get an introduction to their work tasks during the Jamboree.

Wednesday 27 / 7 – Arrival day for participants

During the whole day participants will arrive at the Jamboree and move into their Towns and Sub-camps.

Thursday 28 / 7

The day is spent on camp construction. More than 50 000 poles will be transformed into tables, benches, dish racks and gateways. In the evening the opening ceremony will take place at the main stage, a show featuring artists and performances.

Friday 29 / 7

Participants take part in scheduled and spontaneous programme activities.

Saturday 30 / 7

Participants take part in scheduled and spontaneous programme activities. In the afternoon an inter-religious ceremony will take place at the main stage.

Sunday 31 / 7

Participants take part in scheduled and spontaneous programme activities. Some participants will leave the Jamboree site for 24 hours to visit one of the 188 Scout groups which have organised their summer camp as a ”Camp in Camp” near the Jamboree site.

Monday 1 / 8

Participants take part in scheduled and spontaneous programme activities. The participants who went to Camp in Camp the day before return and a new set of Jamboree participants leave for their Camp in Camp. The International Conference “Keeping Children Safe From Harm – Taking Action Together” takes place at the camp. Invited are major youth organizations from around the world, one of the speakers is Susan Bissel, Chief of Child Protection at UNICEF.

Participants take part in scheduled and spontaneous programme activities

Wednesday 3 / 8

Participants take part in scheduled and spontaneous programme activities. Camp in Camp continues.

Thursday 4 / 8 -Cultural Festival Day

No scheduled programme activities will take place on this day. On the Cultural Festival Day, each participating country will show what is typical of their homeland and their culture, everything from food and drink to dancing and singing. The day ends with a carnival procession and a show on the main stage.

Friday 5 / 8

Participants take part in scheduled and spontaneous programme activities.

Saturday 6 / 8

Participants start preparing for their trip home. In the evening the closing ceremony will be held on the main stage.

Sunday 7 / 8 – Departure day for participants

Participants return home from the Jamboree.

Monday 8 / 8 – Departure day for volunteer staff

The Volunteers leave the Jamboree and deconstruction begins.
