Before or after the World Scout Jamboree 2011 you have the opportunity to experience Home Hospitality in one of the Nordic countries Sweden, Norway, Denmark or Finland. The Home Hospitality stay is 4 days (3 nights) before or after the camp.
During your stay at a scout family or a scout house you will experience the country and culture together with the local scouts. You will be invited to stay either in their home, where we will place you in pairs of two, or we will accommodate you in a local scout troop house.
During your stay your host will arrange an outdoor activity such as bush walking, canoeing, sailing, etc, depending on the local scenery. You will also be able to taste the local Nordic food together at a dinner with a local scout troop and take a tour around the area where you stay to experience the local culture.
The Home Hospitality is also an important part in the Simply Scouting theme where nature, meetings and solidarity are possible to experience in a local environment together with new scout friends.
Travels
If you participate in the Home Hospitality experience before the Jamboree, the Jamboree organization will cover the cost and arrange transportation from Home Hospitality to the Jamboree site, you will cover and arrange travel from your home country to Home Hospitality.
If you participate in the Home Hospitality experience after the Jamboree, the Jamboree organization will cover the cost and arrange transportation from Home Hospitality to the Jamboree site, you cover and arrange travel from Home Hospitality to your home country.
Cost
The Home Hospitality experience will cost additional 650 SEK. Included in that are travels to or from Jamboree site, food during the whole Home Hospitality stay and activities mentioned above.
