Good to know

The currency in Sweden is called krona (SEK) and exchange rates are available on many different Internet sites.

The Jamboree’s Medical Service Section recommends that everyone attending the camp-site should be vaccinated against Tetanus.

The Swedish summer weather can be quite diverse, ranging from rain with thunderstorms at 15ºC Celsius (59ºF) to a clear sky at 30ºC (86ºF). You should therefore bring clothes for sunny as well as rainy weather.

Pharmacy

If you need medicine, there is a pharmacy at the Jamboree, open during day time.

Internet

There is public WiFi available at the site.

Currency

You can use credit/debit card (see list below) as well as the swedish currency krona (SEK).

Payment methods at the Jamboree

In order to keep the amount of cash to a minimum at the Jamboree we encourage everyone to use credit/debit cards. The sales points will have many lines open for card payments but only a few lines open for cash payments. The following credit/debit cards will be accepted at the Jamboree:

  • Visa
  • Visa Electron
  • MasterCard
  • Maestro
  • JCB
  • American Express

Please contact your bank to make sure that you will be able to use your card abroad, before you leave for Sweden.

In Sweden the use of PIN codes is widely spread. If you don’t already know your PIN code we suggest that you contact you bank. The Swedish PIN-codes consists of four digits, but PIN-codes with more digits than that should work as well.

It will also be possible to make purchases in cash, but only in the Swedish currency Krona (SEK).
