Connecting the Jamboree

Connecting at the Jamboree

There are several ways to connect with the rest of the world during the Jamboree:

  • Free Wifi access will be available in the main square and all town squares.
  • Internet Cafés are available for both participants and ISTs in the towns. There will also be Wifi access in the Internet Cafés. All Internet Cafés are free of charge.
  • In the Jamboree shop you can buy a Swedish SIM-card for your mobile phone. Note, however, that carriers usually charges extra for data traffic.

All in all, there will be plenty of possibilities for you to tell the world what is happening on the Jamboree and stay in touch with family and friends.

I’m hoping to get a flavor of the jamboree while watching from the USA, Vancouver in the state of Washington. Will there be a radio station we can listen to on the web, and do you have any special programming planned. I’ve been to several of our national jamborees, and hope to be at the world in 2019 in West Virginia.

  21. Hi Mark,
The Jamboree has no recommendation whether participants may bring their phones to the Jamboree or not. It is up to each contingent to decide. There will, however, be SIM cards and wifi available for those who want to use it.

I though that participants were not allowed to bring mobile phones. if this is the case then why the need for a phone mast, Swedish SIM cards and an iPhone APP?

I wish someone would make their mind up and publish a definite Yes or No!!
