Regarding the tragedy in Norway

Update:
With respect to the tragedy in Norway, the Norwegian government calls for a minute of silence at 12.00 Monday 25th of July. The Jamboree organisation encourages everyone to attend.

Our thoughts are with the injured and the families of the victims of the terrible events in Norway yesterday.

In relation to the Jamboree, we have analysed the situation together with the Swedish police. We do not feel that the events in Norway affect the safety of the Jamboree, but we will of course continue to follow the development closely. Security issues are important to us and we have had, and will continue to have, a close cooperation with police and other relevant authorities throughout the planning and the Jamboree itself.

Tonight there will be a moment of silence at the Jamboree site to honour the memory of those who were killed. It will take place at 18.20 (CET) – we welcome you to join us wherever you are in the world.

Information has also been sent out to Contingents.

If you have any further questions, please contact info@worldscoutjamboree.se or the Jamboree Switchboard on +46 8 555 065 65.
