Jamboree forum

Jamboree Forums’s goal is to give young people the opportunity to discuss issues in a friendly and open environment learning from and sharing with each other. To encourage them to “listen to other perspectives and share your own perspective”.

General Feeds Forum:

Jamboree Forum Feed 1:
This unique event brings together young people from all over the world to discuss matters of importance to everyone on this planet. This is your chance to have your views heard and to learn more about the views of people from all over the world! The Jamboree Forum will be located in the Heads of Contingent tent which is quite close to the World Scout Center in the Spontaneous Activities Area. The sessions will start at 15:30 sharp and end at 18:00 on each of the 5 days.

Jamboree Forum Feed 2:
Every day a different topic is being discussed at the Jamboree Forum. A keynote speaker will introduce the day’s topic and then discussion will take place in small groups. These are the topics:

July 29: Militarism and scouting: Is our uniform militaristic?
July 31: Globalization: Is a fairtrade uniform fair?
August 1: The role of Scouting in eradicating poverty
August 2: Integration versus diversity
August 5: Faith and Religion: Is duty to God important for being a scout?

General Feed UN Session:

United Nations Simulation: The Jamboree gives us the unique opportunity to have a UN simulation with young people from all over the world representing their own countries to discuss a topic important to all scouts: our environment.

On the 3rd of August we will go off site for a full day to a special location to have our own “UN General Assembly”. We will operate in much the same way as the real UN General Assembly does with position papers, discussions, resolutions and amendments.
