The Jamboree App

Official launch: the Jamboree App

The Jamboree application enables you to spot other application users, exchange contact information with them, discover points of interest, and find your way around on the Jamboree site. News and Twitter updates about the Jamboree is also easily accessible.

Simply Scouting, the theme of the Jamboree, aims to show Scouting in many aspects. One of its key concepts is Meetings and that is precisely what is being facilitated through the App. Whether you’re looking for a spontaneous chat or searching for your IST colleagues, the App will help you find them.

“We strive to open yet another possibility for Scouts to meet and exchange contacts. I hope it can help build friendships that remains after the Jamboree,” says Anders Frick, the originator of the Jamboree App.

The Jamboree application is available free for iPhone and Android from today. Have a go at it, and find your app-neighbour. Maybe you’ll find a new buddy for your next “fika”.

Recently the World Organisation of the Scout Movement also launched its application, so far only available for iPhone. You can read more about it on their website. Another app specifically targeted for visitors will be launched in the next few days.

Ps. There is a mobile version of the website too, check it out on http://m.wsj.se

We didn’t have time to get that into the app, but we will stream the radio using Shoutcast which I believe also have an app to make it possible to stream using the app. It will also be possible to listen, if you are on-site, on 94.5 Mhz.
