A Swedish proverb says that if the bride gets rain in her hair, it means the marriage will be happy. If this is true, Helena Lindh and Jonas Bofjäll are in luck. The couple were wed in a short ceremony up in the Jamboree Tower Friday 29/7.
Dressed in Swedish Scout uniform and with flowers in her hair, the bride welcomed the guests on the platform. “We are here today because ten years ago, I caught eye of Jonas in the food queue of Scout 2001 (1st Swedish National Jamboree, held here at Rinkaby)”. President of the Swedish Guide and Scout Council Helene Gestrin presided over the short ceremony, reminding the couple to let their love and respect that brought them together guide them through their life.
“To get married at the Jamboree felt very personal”, said the groom after the ceremony, and added that there will be another celebration after the camp, for the friends who could not attend today.
The wedding was attended by over thirty guests, many of them from the scout troop both bride and groom belongs to. “Everybody loves them, they rule!” says a very happy Matilda Wennberg. “They’re soo cute” adds Ebba Raab, who prides herself at having had both Helena and Jonas as her scout leaders.
