This website will no longer be updated, but there are plenty of memories here for you to relive the Jamboree through photos, articles, films, radio, TV, and much more. You can find material from the time leading up to the Jamboree, the arrival and setting up of the camp, the multitude of activities, the arena events with all of us cheering in front of the main stage and much more. Perhaps you will even spot someone you know. Our hope is that this material will bring you back to the Jamboree and the good times we had.

Each and every one of you played an important role in making this an unforgettable World Scout Jamboree. Together we made the key concepts Meetings, Nature and Solidarity come to life. We hope that you returned home having made new friends from all over the world and feeling inspired to get involved in both your local and global community.

Not everyone celebrates Christmas, and not everyone celebrates Christmas in the same way, or even on the same day! We are celebrating Christmas today here in Sweden, so we would like to send you all a small gift. It is a reminder of the adventure we all shared this summer in Rinkaby. It is a message to let you know that the event this summer was the greatest World Scout Jamboree ever! That is our gift to you.

Pre-orders
There was a problem with one step in our supply chain, and unfortunately we were not able to ship all the pre-ordered Memory Packages in time to reach people before Christmas. Those who did not receive their package before Christmas should receive it shortly afterwards.

All memory packages to international customers are being sent out with FedEx. As soon as your package leaves Sweden they will send an email to the email address you stated when you placed your order. This email will contain a link to a page with information about the status of your shipment.

Swedish orders will be sent with Posten.

If you still have not received your memory package by mid-January, please email us at shop@worldscoutjamboree.se with your name, address, phone number (including country code), order number, and the date on which you placed your order. If you do not have an order number, please send us a copy of something verifying your order (e.g. a receipt or a bank statement) and we will try to find your order.

We hope that the Memory Package, when it does reach you, will bring you many fond memories of the great time we had together this summer.

Damaged items
If your memory package is damaged in any way, you should not accept it from the shipping company, but instead request that they replace it with a non-damaged item. If you have already received your package and it was damaged in transport, please email us at shop@worldscoutjamboree.se with your name, address, phone number (including country code), and the shipping/tracking code for your parcel. We also need some documentation of the damage (preferably a photo by email), and a specification of which items from the package (book, film DVD, DVD-ROM) are damaged. Once we have received this, we can send you a replacement copy. Please note that we will not be able to handle requests for replacement items until all pre-orders have been shipped.

New orders
It is still possible to purchase the World Scout Jamboree Memory Package. As soon as all our pre-orders have been shipped, the remaining packages will be available for sale in our web shop. For international orders, please go to www.worldscoutjamboree.se/shop. For Swedish orders, please go to www.scout.se/shop.

‘It is sad, but every now and then it happens that individual participants deviate from international camps and sporting events. The Scout Movement only allows participants from recognised Scout organizations to participate in our camps. We have also worked closely with the Migration board to prevent people from coming here with intentions other than to participate in the camp. However, we can never guarantee that such occurrences will not happen,’ says camp chief Lasse Karlsson.

Below is a list of the missing participants and their countries. As the camp is now over, we refer you to the police for further information and updates.

Sierra Leone: 12 participants were reported missing.
According to information from the police, part of the group travelled south by train in Europe and intend to return home under their original plan, while one person went back to camp and one has applied for asylum.

Ethiopia: 1 participant reported missing.

Burundi: 1 participant reported missing.

Kenya: 1 participant reported missing.

Countless of meetings have inspired friendship that will last a life time. Over the past two weeks, more than 40 000 Scouts took part in the largest Jamboree to date.

For many participants and adults this Jamboree marked their first international Scouting experience. Others, however, have travelled to multiple Jamboree’s, having had the opportunity to watch the Jamboree scene change, grow and expand.

Looking forward to Japan in 2015, participants will have huge opportunities in the way of exploring nature, science, global issues, community service, cultures and water activities. Being held from July 28 until August 8, 2015, the 23^rd World Scout Jamboree in Japan is aiming to host a bigger and better Jamboree than ever seen before.

So, remember the time you spent in Sweden and at the 22^nd World Scout Jamboree. Hold on to your memories and cherish them. The Jamboree Memory Package will be delivered to those who ordered it in November/December.

The programme airs at 19.30 every day on screens all around the Jamboree site. If you happen to miss it, you can always watch the reruns at 10.30, 13.30 and 16.30 the day after. A motivated team of professional TV reporters, IST members and even young correspondents bring you this programme in English and French, including subtitles for some parts of the show. Pay close attention to the screens though because Jamboree TV will have other great programming throughout the day.

After each show the clips will be uploaded here on the website too.

It’s Saturday morning, and a group of Belgians have already put away their tents. I asked them, “Where are you going to sleep tonight?”

“On the bus,” a Scout named Lukas responded. “Actually, our bus is at 3am in the morning, after the closing ceremony. It’s a 19 hour journey home.”

“It is going to be weird to be alone at home after 12 days living with 40 000 people,” added Louis, sadly.

I continued to wave through the Autumn subcamp. A Canadian was in the process of taking down his pioneered construction. “I would love to be able to stay, but tomorrow at 7:30am there is our flight back to Toronto,” Thomas told me. “Once returned to Canada, I am going to tell everyone, all my friends at high school, how great it was. I will tell them what a Jamboree is and what it is to be a Scout. I will try to be a good ambassador and I’m sure that by next year there will be plenty of new members in our group.”

“It’s clear that what we’ve experienced will inspire other young people to get involved with Scouting,” added Bill.

A Sri Lankan group is going to prolong their stay in Europe. They are going to be staying in Frankfurt for three days before taking their flight to Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka.
Jung, from Korea, told me that they have already cleared up as they are leaving early tomorrow morning. They are going to be visiting Denmark, Austria, Czech Republic and Hungary for a week before returning to the other side of the world.

Finally, which nationality has the longest journey to get home? Well actually, the French – those from French Polynesia that is.

Lyne, a leader from the Papeete unit told me, “We will get our bus at 5:20am to leave the Jamboree. Then, a plane from Copenhagen to Paris, where we will stay a day before flying back to Tahiti on Monday 8th August. We will get home after a 24 hour flight.”

“We are happy to visit the World Scout Jamboree,” said Swedish prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, “and to hear the young people tell us about how they learn from different cultures and make friendships that may last a lifetime.”

After a tour of the camp site, Lars Løkke Rasmussen said that “Scouting is among the finest thing you can do. It combines knowing things yourself with cooperation. You can be a great map reader, or know lots of knots, but if you can’t cooperate in your patrol, then you don’t know anything.”

Finnish Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen also talked about using his Scouting experiences during his political work. He saw more than personal gain for the young people engaged in Scouting. “We came here to encourage young people to take an active part in society. What they do here is good for themselves, but also good for society. Young people show responsibility for themselves and for others.”

All three Ministers touched upon the theme of social responsibility. “What’s happening here is important, as it tells us something about how the world is tied together,” said Fredrik Reinfeldt. “This is always important, but it is even more important when what happened in Norway marks and saddens us, that we look towards what we ought to do, towards the future.”

Judging from the remarks made by all three it seems that regardless of weather, the ministers were taken by storm by the participants and the organisation.
