FAQ
This FAQ (Frequently asked questions) section is where you'll find answers to some of the most common questions we're being asked:
- Will there be a European Jamboree, or EuroJam, or practice camp, on the same site before the World Scout Jamboree in 2011?
There will be no large event before the World Scout Jamboree.
- I would like to come to the camp as a staff member, or IST. I want to join the International Service Team. What should I do? Where can I register?
To apply to join the World Scout Jamboree as a participant, troop leader or IST, you will need to apply to join the National Contingent in your country. To apply to join the Jamboree Planning Team read more under the section Get Involved. However, you can register for our newsletter. This will keep you up to date with what we are preparing, and what you as an individual can do to prepare. Click here to register for our newsletter.
- How much will it cost? What will the fees be?
Each National Contingent sets their own fees for the Scouts attending from their country. Please contact your National Headquarters to find out the fee for your Contingent.
- I want to advertise the Jamboree in my country. Can I have some marketing materials or giveaways? Can I have some more of the items you had at the World Scout Jamboree in the UK? Can I have badges, brochures, pins or other items?
To help all countries with their internal marketing, we distributed a profile package to National Scout Organisations at the World Scout Conference in Korea in July 2008.
Unfortunately we do not have the resources at this stage to send materials to individuals or to Scout Groups. If you would like to advertise the World Scout Jamboree locally, contact your National Headquarters and they should be able to help you with electronic materials that you can print yourself.
You can also purchase profile products on our web shop. Click here to access our web shop.
- Can Guides come to the World Scout Jamboree?
Guides and members of WAGGGS organisations are very welcome at the Jamboree but they must be registered through the National Contingent from the WOSM (World Organisation of the Scout Movement) Organisation in their country.
We suggest that Guides contact the International Department at the National Headquarters for Scouts in their country, and ask them if they are willing to accept some members of the Girl Scouts or Girl Guides in their contingent to the World Scout Jamboree.
